Natalie has worked as a drama workshop facilitator with a variety of age ranges for the past ten years and is available for freelance hire. Her participation work is process-based rather than product-focused, and is centred around the desire to unlock the innate creativity in every participant. She was responsible for instigating new youth theatre groups and building ensembles from the ground up, including a youth theatre for the children of military families.
Natalie delivered two successful Bronze Arts Award projects with several youth theatre groups and is trained as an Adviser in Discover & Explore and Silver programmes.
Natalie also worked frequently with Youth Theatre Assistants, training and supporting the practitioners of the future.
September 2016 - 2019 - Freelance Practitioner with the New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich
Natalie planned and delivered workshops in collaboration with the Ipswich Academy, University of West Suffolk, Helmingham Community Primary School and Ormiston Sudbury Academy on behalf of the New Wolsey Theatre. She also ran CPD sessions for teachers.
May - December 2016 - Freelance Practitioner with the Lakeside Theatre Colchester
Natalie worked as a freelance practitioner with the Lakeside Youth Theatre, run in collaboration with the University of Essex. The youth theatre is comprised of two groups- one for ages 7-11, and one for ages 11-18. Natalie also co-facilitated their 2016 summer schools, Play In A Week.
2013 - 2016- Venue Manager with Shakespeare Schools Festival
Natalie worked as a Venue Manager for three years of Shakespeare Schools Festival in East Anglia, helping casts of school students aged between 7 and 18 (often first-time performers) deliver an abridged performance of a Shakespeare play in their local professional theatre.
This role involved acting as a bridge between the teacher-director, the SSF Venue Director and the theatre’s technical and front-of-house staff, making sure that everybody worked effectively and efficiently together to deliver a successful show. It was also to act as backstage support for the cast and teacher-directors, ensuring they were in the right place at the right time, keeping props and costumes organised, and making sure everybody felt at ease in the space and confident to go out and perform on the stage.
2013 - 2014 - Drama Teacher with Stagecoach Colchester (Maternity Cover)
Natalie worked as a Drama Teacher for Stagecoach, facilitating weekly drama workshops for young people aged between 7 and 16.

Natalie started, planned and led a play-reading workshop for theatre professionals and enthusiasts in Colchester, combining dramatic readings and workshops with analytical discussion and debate.
Natalie has organised, devised and delivered schools workshops in over twenty schools in many different topics and settings over her years as a facilitator.
